Iga Swiatek admits the mistake she made which caused her to lose to Danielle Collins and crash out of the Italian Open…

Iga Swiatek suffered a shocking defeat to Danielle Collins in the third round of the Italian Open, losing 6-1, 7-5
The Pole’s difficult clay season continues, having fallen out of Stuttgart in the quarter-final, before Swiatek suffered a heavy defeat to Coco Gauff in the Madrid Open semi-final.
Currently the world number two, Swiatek has the option of playing in another tournament before her title defence at the French Open, with a WTA 500 in Strasbourg and a 250 in Rabat still up for grabs in May.
Swiatek is predicted to enter one more event before Roland Garros, following her third-round upset against Collins at the Italian Open, which she debriefed after the match.
“I focused on mistakes. It’s my mistake, and I’m not doing things right, so yeah, the focus is on the wrong things from my side and I’ll try to change that.”
On her expectations for Roland Garros, she said: Obviously, (indiscernible) because I’m not able to play my game, I’ll just try to, you know, as I said, change my mindset a little bit, try to regroup and just focus day by day working.
Swiatek was asked about players in the past coming into the French Open having not played well in previous tournaments.
She responded: I don’t care what other people had. There’s no point to compare. It doesn’t matter what things I get. Every year is different, so… Doesn’t matter.”
