Iga Świątek: „Bez mojego taty nie byłoby mnie tutaj, więc jestem wdzięczna”
Although Iga Swiatek enjoyed her father Tomasz’s support at the French Open, he wasn’t present for her triumphs in Madrid and Rome. Despite his absence, the World No. 1 celebrated her Italian Open triumph with her father and sister, catching up with them on a video call.
“(I FaceTimed) my dad and my sister. So I did the same after Madrid. So, I am in a bubble and during the tournaments, I am not talking to anybody, very honestly. So, after the tournament I always catch up,” Iga Swiatek said on the Tennis Channel.
The Pole also called them the “most important” people in her life and expressed her gratitude to her father, acknowledging his indispensable contributions to her success.
Iga Swiatek had planned to commence her grasscourt season at the ecotrans Ladies Open in Berlin. However, she chose to withdraw from the WTA 500 event, citing “physical and mental fatigue” from her “intense” claycourt swing.
