Criticized Świątek: Heard Accusations Against Her and Responded
Nick Kyrgios has been vocal in criticizing the doping case involving Iga Świątek from the very beginning. Recently, the Australian supported Jason Goodall’s opinion, which accused the Polish player of lying about working with her coach during a suspension.
Nick Kyrgios, known for his controversial remarks, has once again criticized Iga Świątek. This time, the Australian agreed with the opinion of tennis expert Jason Goodall, who accused Świątek of a lack of transparency regarding her suspension.
The Polish player was suspended for a month due to the presence of a banned substance in her system. It was later revealed that the contamination came from melatonin supplements Świątek was taking to address sleep issues. Despite the clarification, the matter continues to stir emotions among tennis fans.
“What I didn’t like was the lack of transparency in these two cases. (…) In Sinner’s case, we only learned about it before the start of the US Open, despite the incident happening much earlier in the spring season. And with Iga, after the US Open, we were told she was working with her coach on different aspects of her game. That wasn’t true. It was just a blatant lie. We didn’t know she was temporarily suspended,” said former tennis player and current Tennis Channel Live expert Jason Goodall.
Kyrgios, who had previously criticized Świątek, this time limited his reaction to a single word on Platform X. “Facts,” he wrote, sharing a clip of Goodall’s comments, which he endorsed.
