Former WTA ranking leader Ashleigh Barty said the sacramental “yes”. The Australian bragged about this event on social media. Congratulations were expressed by, among others, her former court rival Iga Świątek.

The couple met in 2016 when Barty visited Brookwater Golf Club in Brisbane. Kissick is a former professional Australian golfer who works at the club. The two were seen together publicly in the fall of 2017, when the tennis player invited her boyfriend to a gala where she received the Newcombe Medal.
Barty and Kissick got engaged at the end of last year. In January, the 26-year-old won the Australian Open, and a few months later announced her retirement. In early April, Iga Świątek took over the top spot in the WTA rankings .
