Iga Swiatek’s coach, Wim Fissette, has responded to criticism from Nick Kyrgios and Yevgeny Kafelnikov regarding Swiatek’s doping controversy. Kyrgios questioned her accountability, while Kafelnikov demanded a lifetime ban. Fissette defended Swiatek, stating, “Anyone who has read the documents can see what happened… It was just bad luck.”
The International Tennis Integrity Agency confirmed Swiatek’s positive test for a banned substance was unintentional, linked to contaminated melatonin.
