To achieve success today, Taylor Swift always has strong motivation when pursuing her goals. The 34-year-old singer shared that since she was a teenager, she wanted to realize her dreams on her own. Swift’s first goal was to document her early years with an album. She composed songs with a professional musician once a week after school.

Taylor’s first major single and album was released when she was 16 years old and it stayed at number 5 on the US Billboard 200 chart for 275 weeks. From that first step, Swift has built a fortune worth $1.1 billion to this day.

The Harvard Gazette reported that Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour could be the “highest-grossing tour of all time”, reaching $1.4 billion. According to The Wall Street Journal, this was the first tour to generate more than $1 billion in revenue.

The film version of the singer’s tour has also broken box office records, to date earning nearly 262 million USD. Taylor Swift has a way of releasing movies unlike any other producer. Instead of going through the studios, she released it directly with the AMC theater chain. “I did what I usually do… which is bet on myself,” she shared.

To date, Taylor’s four Versions albums have earned more than $55 million, and Swift has created a sizable economic impact nationwide. Bloomberg Economics estimates that Swift’s 53 concerts in the US in 2023 will add $4.3 billion to gross domestic product (GDP). The U.S. Federal Reserve said Swift’s concerts caused an influx of tourism dollars into show cities. The U.S. Travel Association estimates that Swift’s fans, the “Swifties,” spent an average of $1,300 each on concerts. It is estimated that the total economic impact could exceed $10 billion.
