Iga Świątek
“I got the impression that Iga looked like she wanted to rest after these two tournaments and go home,” said Adam Romer, editor-in-chief of the magazine, “the editor-in-chief of the magazine “Tenisklub”, adding that the Polish woman lacked patience in the quarter-finals. The vice-leader of the ranking unexpectedly lost in the quarter-finals of the tournament in Dubai with Mirra Andreyeva 3:6, 3:6. Now, before Christmas, very difficult weeks, during which the rivalry with Arryna Sabalenko for the throne in women’s tennis can go down.
Adam Romer notes that Mirra Andreyev was very well prepared for the match against Iga Świątek and at a few moments surprised the vice-leader of the ranking
Christmas in the near future will defend a large number of points after successful tournaments in 2024, which may bring further nerve moments
The editor-in-chief of the magazine “Tenisklub” notes when it will be possible to assess the cooperation of Christmas with her new trainer. He also mentions the “smoir” of the Polish tennis player

It was not the Iga Świątek tournament again. The Polish woman in the match against Mirra Andreyeva did not take advantage of the moment when she could reverse the fate of the match in the second set and finally lost to the 17-year-old Russian. Christmas thus ends the struggle in the Middle East without a trophy, which means that Aryna Sabalenka will increase the lead in the ranking over her. Adam Romer talks about Thursday’s defeat and her difficult next few weeks in an interview with Onet Sports Review.

In the first duel of Świątek and Andreiv in 2024. The Russian woman threatened the Polish woman, but she managed to make up for the loss of one set. In the second match, Andreyeva drew conclusions and no longer gave Poland to join the game, although it had such a chance in the second set.
First of all, tennis is a sport in which the defeat lies next to victory and sometimes you have to accept that you are just weaker. Rarely is there one reason why. Andreyev played a very good match. She was very well prepared tactically for Iga, and Iga played poorly.
I had the impression that she was not patient. Especially when this match could have turned around — when Iga led 3-1 in the second set. And for me, that is the main reason for this failure.

I remember some of her games, when sometimes you had to stay in the game and make it to the end, even at the expense of not playing spectacularly. This patience was lacking here. Iga wanted too much. She quickly gave the lead 3-1 and then there were nerves in all of it.
