Speaking to Shields and journalist Katie Couric during the discussion, she described the experience has ‘hateful’.

‘I keep my distance from it right now for my wellbeing but the bulk of the bullying and abuse I was experiencing in social media and online was when I was pregnant with Archie and with Lili, and with a newborn, with each of them,’ she said.

She added, ‘You could succumb to it, or nearly succumb to how painful that is. Or maybe because I was pregnant that mammalian instinct just kicks in to do everything you can to protect your child and as a result protect yourself too.’

Meghan opted for a chic monochrome beige outfit for the occasion and wore her dark hair in loose waves around her face. She kept her jewellery to a minimum but opted for large gold hoop earrings for the outing.

Meanwhile the Duke of Sussex, ever the supportive husband, sat in the front row of the crowd as he applauded his wife at the event.

The appearance comes as rumours swirl that Meghan Markle is set to relaunch herself in the UK, has been seeking a PR professional to help.

The former actress reportedly looking for professional help to gain more positive publicity in Britain for herself and her charity foundation, Archewell.
